Sarajevo's first hammam, built by Isa Begov in 1462, has a rich history that reflects the city's culture. Over the years, it faced some challenges and was in need of repairs. In 1889, Yosip Vandac took on the task of modernizing the hammam to better serve the community. More recently, with the collaboration of Turkish and Bosnian Foundations, efforts were made to restore this important place so that it can continue to be a welcoming space for everyone, honoring its past while adapting to present needs.
