Residence One, a Grade II listed building, is located within the historic Royal William Yard in the ocean city of Plymouth. The building was once home to a Royal Navy Admiral and has been restored by Bistrot Pierre as a boutique B&B accommodation, full of period features. They include a living space with a sofa, flat-screen TV and a DVD player. The bathroom will include either a bath or shower, and offer a hairdryer and complimentary toiletries. The well-equipped kitchen in the apartment features an oven and stove-top, refrigerator and a microwave. Laundry facilities are available. Some of the apartments boast views over the Hoe or Plymouth. The 4-star Lydford Country House is set amongst 8 acres of grounds within Dartmoor National Park. Lydford Gorge is a 15-minute walk away. The spacious bedrooms at Lydford House have tea/coffee facilities and most have free Wi-Fi access. All rooms have an LCD TV and modern bathroom, and some have scenic views across Dartmoor. Guests can enjoy a drink with a homemade scone in the the lounge with a log burner, or relax on the terrace. The reception sells various alcoholic drinks. Lydford is set in a grand Victorian house, and the magnificent gardens feature quiet terraces and pretty ponds. Lydford Country House leads onto the Granite Way Trail, and is surrounded by breathtaking walks. In Hope Cove fishing village, the Hope and Anchor Inn boasts excellent sea views and fresh seafood. It has a bar and restaurant, and is opposite the beach. Rooms at the Hope and Anchor Inn all have sea views and some have stunning views over Bigbury Bay. All rooms have a TV, hairdryer and a bathroom with a shower. The restaurant features fresh, Devonshire produce and serves pub favourites and fish dishes. The bar serves real ales and a selection of wines and spirits. The terrace overlooks the beach. The Hope and Anchor lies within the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Clifftop walks and some watersports are available in the village. Salcombe, with its popular harbour, sailing school and Overbeck’s House, is a 15-minute drive away. Dartmoor National Park, Dartmouth and Saltram House are all within 30 minutes’ drive.
